Reflections Holidays Expands Wilderness Camping Reach in NSW

Reflections Holidays has recently expanded its presence in wilderness camping by taking over the management of Reflections Tumut River, bringing the total number of holiday parks under its management in New South Wales to 41. Nestled in the Riverina region near the Snowy Mountains, Reflections Tumut River, previously known as Riverglade Holiday Park, is now overseen by Crown land manager Reflections Holidays.

The CEO of Reflections, Nick Baker, highlighted the strategic significance of this move, emphasizing the company’s commitment to connecting people with nature. With existing holiday parks like Burrinjuck Waters and Wee Jasper also linked to the Hume and Hovell Track, Reflections aims to promote a holistic outdoor experience, encouraging guests to explore these interconnected natural havens.

Nick Baker underscored the allure of Tumut as a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a range of activities such as hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. By integrating Reflections Tumut River into its portfolio, the organization now oversees a total of 41 holiday parks and manages 47 nature reserves across approximately 10,000 hectares of Crown Land. This consolidation solidifies Reflections’ position as the largest holiday park group in NSW, with a business model that reinvests profits back into enhancing the parks and reserves.

The expansion into Tumut is not only a strategic business move but also a boost to the local economy, with Reflections estimating an annual injection of around $1.2 million in tourism revenue to the region. To further integrate into the community, Reflections engaged in a workshop with local businesses to assess its social impact and contribution to the regional economy and community well-being.

What sets Reflections Holidays apart is its status as the only certified social enterprise in the Australian holiday park sector. This certification underscores its commitment to not only providing exceptional outdoor experiences but also to making a positive social impact on the communities it operates within. By fostering sustainable tourism practices and engaging with local stakeholders, Reflections Holidays continues to set a benchmark for responsible and community-oriented tourism management.

In conclusion, Reflections Holidays’ expansion into Tumut marks a significant milestone in its journey to connect individuals with the natural beauty of New South Wales. Through careful stewardship of wilderness camping sites and a focus on community engagement, Reflections is not just providing camping experiences but also contributing to the well-being of local economies and ecosystems.
